What Does a Fauna Spotter Catcher Do?
A fauna spotter catcher is a licensed wildlife professional who monitors clearing and earthworks operations to identify, capture, and safely relocate native fauna before and during ground disturbance. They are required on most clearing, demolition and earthworks sites in Western Australia where native fauna may be present — particularly conservation significant species.
Our fauna spotter catchers are responsible for:
- Pre-clearing inspections of vegetation and ground habitat
- Identification and capture of all native fauna species including reptiles, mammals, frogs and birds
- Safe handling and relocation of captured fauna to approved release sites
